OMAHA, Neb. -- An Omaha man charged with sexually molesting four boys told KETV he is responsible for the crimes.

"I do love these kids. And I know for a fact, they love me," said 32-year-old Johnathon Johnson. He was arrested Friday and booked into the Douglas County Correctional Center.

Omaha police said Johnson is charged with first-degree sexual assault involving four children and he may face more charges.

In a Monday interview with KETV at the jail, Johnson said he had sexual contact with the boys.

"I let things happened that shouldn't have happened," Johnson said.

He said the sexual contact took place between winter of 2006 and spring of 2007.

Johnson said he was trying to help the children and became too close to them. He said he's known about his attraction to young boys since he was a child.

"I wish I would have had the courage 20, 25 years ago to say, hey, I'm having really odd feelings, someone help me with this. I'm 32 years old, and my life is pretty much over," he said.

Johnson said when he goes to court, he plans to plead guilty.

"I knew in my heart that I was different. That I looked at kids differently. That I wanted to love them more than average," said Johnson.

Johnson said he knew the children for about four years before he made contact with them.

"I really wish that somewhere in my future, someday I'll be able to wake up and I'll be as disgusted as everyone else is by the thought of having sex with a child," Johnson said.

Johnson is married and the father of three girls.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.

At least all his kids are girls, so maybe they weren't abused too.

Hopefully the prison will put him in the general population and some gang-banger will shank him or cut his nuts off.

He said he has had a problem for years. How many more victims are out there. I feel these guys cant be rehabilitated. Sexual predators will always be a danger to the public, once identified I think they should never be let off the leash.

Agreed! If he says that he has had this problem for years, he should have had himself committed to some type of hospital or someplace where they could keep him on a short leash so he wouldn't offend. At least he realizes he has a problem but its much too late now. Four boys have to live with this event in their life for the rest of their lives.
