Driver arrested after speeding 22 times in 45 days
They'd catch me speeding 45 days out of 45, if their cameras were in the right places
- But never that fast.

PHOENIX (AP) — A Nevada woman has been arrested after photo enforcement cameras on a Phoenix freeway captured her behind the wheel of a car speeding 22 times in a 45-day span, authorities said.
The woman, 24, was arrested by Arizona Department of Public Safety officers on suspicion of criminal speeding, reckless driving and endangerment.
During a 45-day period starting in May, DPS officials said the woman was captured by photo enforcement cameras on Loop 101 in Scottsdale 22 times, with her top speed at 92 mph.
The woman was living in Arizona temporarily when officers arrested her at her parent's north Scottsdale home last Friday, officials said.

geez....they have the cameras catching her in the act. I wonder if they were contemplating sending some type of futuristic police robot to go snatch her up (ED-209, perhaps?). Maybe soon, the only actual humans in the LE field will be working in the police robot maintenance laboratory. Then all of our O/R tags will read "Verified Robot Mechanic" and we'll all be talking about what we use to lube up the robot police joints and the most effective police robot air filter.
At that point, it will only be a matter of time before the human police robot mechanics are replaced by robot police robot mechanics. Then we'll all be fucked. Probably by sex robots. Which will be sooooooooo hot........

I'm with Bob. I hate the cameras. The cameras are so they don't have to pay us better to attract more qualified candidates to hire more cops.

I really didn't mean for it to be a Unibomber-style anti robot rant, but Xiphos brings up a good point. What if you stopped someone for running a red light, but it turns out their son/daughter were at the house alone and trying to cut their wrists? The son/daughter's friend called 911, then called the parent to aprise them of the situation and they busted ass home as fast as possible. I know there's not anything realistically the parent could do (and spare me the "red light runners cause wrecks" bit, because i know and I agree), but if it were your kid, would you be observing the speed limit, allowing appropriate following distance betwixt you and the other cars and stopping when the light is yellow and close to red or would you be trying to get there? Well, I stopped a lady like that one time..ran a red light and speeding. Turns out, her kid was at home about to off himself. I let her go so she could take care of her family business. If I were to write her any tickets, I would've been a total fucking dick and the kind of cop that I hate. There are some instances where officer discretion is a good idea.
A camera cannot make that distinction. A camera says, "Car speeding. Car gets ticket. Bleep, bleep blorp." No ifs, ands or butts.

I agree with Bob and X. Camera enforcement is a money making scheme. I have seen studies that show red light cameras actually increase accidents in intersections.
