CLEVELAND -- Cleveland police said an off-duty officer shot and killed a suspected bank robber at a west side bank on Wednesday.

Police said the robbery occurred at the Key Bank on Fulton Road around 3:45 p.m. Police said the 35-year-old suspect walked into the bank, demanded money and then ran out.

The FBI said an off-duty officer chased the suspect down a side street and shot him near West 52nd Street and Memphis.

The suspect died a short time later.

The use of deadly force shooting is under investigation.
