TIGARD, Ore. -- A motorcyclist reached speeds over 130 mph in a police chase that ended with his arrest after he ran out of gas.
The chase began when Tigard police spotted 27-year-old Gary Allen Smith speeding on Oregon 217 on a 2001 Suzuki SVC.
An Oregon State Police trooper saw a Tigard police car in pursuit where Oregon 217 merges with Interstate 5, and joined the chase down the freeway.
Smith got all the way to Albany before he ran out of gas and the chase ended.
He's charged with reckless driving and attempting to elude police. Charges could be filed in multiple counties since the chase passed through Washington, Clackamas, Marion and Linn counties.I'm your huckleberry...

He sure has a silly ass grin in the booking photo. I wish I could read the rest of his t-shirt. "Every great idea I have.....". I bet the rest of it might apply to his current situation.

I was just thinking about that, Cidp. I guess this latest stunt of his wasn't one of his great ideas.

If nothing else, it's refreshing to see that the gas prices have affected the idiots too. They just can't afford to run from us anymore apparently.
