6 year old shoots and kills 3 year old brother
Terrible news from my county. I was on duty when the call came out. 3 year shot in the head, breathing but unresponsive. Aircare got there, but pronounced dead at the hospital about 2-3 hours after the initial call.

Such a tragic story. This serves as a powerful reminder to make sure we secure our weapons at home.

Who cares who gets mad...its a discussion forum, spill those guts and express your point of view. Turn FLAME on and let it rip!!!
I am disgusted that a gun owner would allow this to happen. I dont have small children, I trained my kids to make safe each one of my guns, that being said, I dont leave them laying around for the amusement of others. Sure, the kids know where the guns are but they also know the penalties if they are touched. I have extremely severe penalties that might land me in jail for child abuse, but not for allowing a child to have access to a gun and hurting someone. I think the gun owner should spend time in jail...no questions about it.Insert witty comment and disclaimer here.

What is really sad is that little girl has to live with the fact that she killed her brother her whole life....and let alone when she gets old her perception of what exactly happened that day will be off and she will think that she did it intentionally and not realize that it was an accident. And she will then be afraid of guns and you know she wont wanna join any job that has to deal with guns

Its not the guns fault. Its bad parenting. My son is 8, and I know where he is at ALL TIMES in my house. My guns are put away and he knows not to touch them. He only tried once. I blistered his ass and he doesn't want to try it again. How can this woman not keep an eye on kids that young?

I'm with Monster and Donut.
I was raised with guns in the house. We knew where they were secured, and knew there would be severe consequences if we touched them. We were told in no uncertain terms that every gun should be treated as loaded, and only point it at something you planned on killing.Molly Weasley makes Chuck Norris eat his vegetables.
