Talking Loaded police gun found in London Starbucks

Oops - I bet this doesn't help getting guns to the ordinary UK police

Loaded police gun found in cafe

A police firearms officer left a gun in the toilets of a coffee shop where it was found by a member of the public, the Metropolitan Police (Met) has said.

The loaded firearm was left inside a branch of Starbucks in Edgware Road, central London, last Friday.

The female officer concerned has now been removed from operational duties while an investigation is carried out.

The pistol was linked to her when police compared its serial number with those logged at a police armoury.

A Met Police spokesman said: "A police-issue firearm was left unattended in a central London cafe on 29 August and was found by a member of the public.

"The weapon belongs to a Metropolitan Police authorised firearms officer who was on duty at the time."

An investigation is being carried out by the force's Directorate of Professional Standards.

I'm not going to hammer the Bobbys too bad, this stuff happens here too.

I'm just glad some of their coppers are armed.

I'll agree with you half way...it does happen here. But, MAN, if you're lucky enough to get one over there, DO NOT leave it on the back of the crapper!!!

I've heard of officers doing it over here too, but it generally only happens once, and they get the butt-chewing of their life - Or so I'm told.

I try to hold #2's till I get home, so my name won't be brought up in toilet discussions for the next 10 years - but on 12 hour shifts it's hard after eating Mexican food

Not as bad as a gun....but almost:

Worked with an officer one time that stopped in one of those 24 hour diners to get something to eat. When he left, he left his radio. The next the we hear is:

    "Waffle House to dispatch."

    "Umm...Waffle House?!?!"

"One of your officers just left his radio here and we thought he should know."
Are you a 3%er? If you aren't, you should be.

I take a "battle dump" every night before I go to work, and I eat dinner late in my shift. It's very likely that you'll lose control of your bowels during a critical incident (not a bad car accident, I'm talking a shooting or near death experience) and, even though in the grand scheme of things its not a big deal, I still don't want to shit my pants.
