The Maypearl police chief says his training helped him to survive after a man pointed his gun at him and tried to fire, even though the safety mechanism was on.
Maypearl is located in Ellis County, about ten miles southwest of Waxahachie. It's where FOX 4's Fil Alvarado says the man hit the chief but no shots were fired.

I'll add....he's probably a chief who walks around in a uniform with a plain pants belt on and no gun, cause nothing ever happens in a PD.I'm not ruining your life, you are, and I'm just going to write a short story about it.
