City officials are investigating a complaint regarding a Cape Coral firefighter who allegedly exposed himself at a pool hall and bar.

The investigation was launched after the city council received an e-mail from a citizen, Ralf Vidal, who alleged that a firefighter urinated on the floor of Diamond Billiards in Cape Coral a week ago.

Vidal said he was at the pool hall with family members.

Vidal said a relative of his told him that a firefighter urinated on the floor, splattering his shoes.

The alleged incident happened following a funeral service for a Cape Coral firefighter.

The case is being investigated, said Connie Barron, city spokeswoman.

A firefighter has resigned, but the investigation is ongoing and should be completed in a week or so, Barron said.

In an e-mail to city council members, City Manager Terry Stewart said he came in from vacation to oversee the investigation being conducted by his office, the fire department and the police department.

City Councilman Tim Day, who is the director of the Fort Myers Fire Academy said that the allegations, if true, warrant termination or the resignation of the firefighter involved.
