passenger airplane landingDemocratic presidential nominee Barack Obama is reportedly cleansing his campaign plane of reporters in the mainstream news media that work for newspapers that endorsed his opponent John McCain.
The Drudge Report is reporting that the Obama campaign has decided to dump three newspapers from its plane for the remainder of the campaign.
According to Drudge, reporters from the New York Post, Washington Times, and Dallas Morning News -- all papers that endorsed John McCain -- are being asked to move out by Sunday to make room for "network bigwigs," documentary filmmakers, and possibly reporters from two black magazines, Essence and Jet.
Robert KnightBob Knight, director of the Culture and Media Institute, says this is a clear attempt by the Obama campaign to control the press image at all costs. "I think this will hurt Obama because it looks as if he can't take any heat," he says.
Knight suggests the expelled journalists, instead of following the campaign's script, may have just been doing their jobs. "Maybe these reporters asked some tough questions about him appearing to support traditional marriage at the same time opposing the Defense of Marriage Act and Prop. 8 in California," says the family activist. "Maybe they asked about his extreme votes on abortion and his plans for the abolition of all laws regarding abortion. Perhaps they asked him about what kind of judges he'd appoint.
"I think the Obama campaign is so smug, so used to a free ride, that they feel they're free to throw anybody off the bus that doesn't sing the same tune," he concludes.
According to Knight, the Obama campaign seemingly "can't take the idea that some reporters might be objective."

I'm not necessarily gonna say they will execute or inprison those who appose them if they get elected, but i'm scared to find out the retribution they will wreak on me for openly apposing them, both in word and vote now and if they get elected, every chance i have

Honestly I don't understand why newspapers or any media outlet "endorses" any candidate. They are supposed to be unbiased presenters of facts and endorsing any political candidate automatically reduces them to political hacks. I've often wondered why the White House and presidential candidates don't get rid of the enemy who is actively propagandizing against them. If Fox News was the only media outlet allowed to cover the president perhaps CBS, NBC, and ABC would make a grudging effort to try and be fair in order to have some access.
I have no problem with what Obama's doing and I wish the Republicans would quit being gentlemen and start fighting as well.That which does not kill me, better start fucking running.

Oh, I have contempt. But I see no reason why his campaign has to provide seats on the plane they pay for to haul media outlets trying to undermine him by endorsing his opponent.
