RIP United States of America
July 4th 1776 to November 4th 2008. You will be sorely missed. Executed by her own residents, the United States of America as we know it died today as the bringer of higher taxes, socialism and marxist ideals, Mr. Obama was elected. We now live in an obamination, the United Socialist States of America. Kiss your freedoms, your rights and your money goodbye. Say hello to redistribution of wealth and SS troops.

Lets see, we had two bowls of shit put in front of us, it looks like the people had chosen the one they thought stunk the least.

One thing I am sick and tired of is Obama supporters saying that just because he was elected, they can be proud to be American again. Fuck anyone who says that. This is the greatest country on Earth. If you didn't like it, get the fuck out. Vote for change, fine. But to virtually renounce your citizenship because you feel embarrassed in a foreign country (actually had a friend say this to me...embarrassed to tell people in Africa that she was American), fuck off. Like it's been said, I don't like Obama, but he is my president for at least the next four years. Even though I'm not behind the guy or his policies, I will ALWAYS be behind my country, and I will NEVER abandoned her because of the perceptions of others. No president, even one I dislike as much as Obama, will ever be cause for me to be embarrassed with my country.
Fucking fairweather citizens.

I totally agree with PDawg , Keith720, and 121Traffic. I will make the best of the next four years and voice my opinion again in 2012. I will always love this country. Enduring an Obama Adminiistration is just one more way to show it.

I agree with some in this thread and disagree with others. First off to say the United States is dead, even figuratively, is uncalled for. If we're going that route heck you could say because the US isn't mentioned in the Bible by name that we won't be around in the end. If your pick did not win, fine. But do not act as if someone destroyed your lifestyle completely. For the election process is still here, the American way of life as written in the Constitution is still being defended by men and women who love their country. AND YES, I WOULD say this if MCCAIN WON, but he did not.

No, we had 6. Plus about twenty-something (23?) minor candidates.
It amazes me how many folks don't understand how the government works. It's not the fact that Obama won. The President doesn't run this country all by his lonesome, folks.
The reason we are screwed is because the House, Senate, and Presidency will be Democratically controlled. Not just one office- but all 3.
Oh, and 213... they don't take over until January 1st, 2009. Just FYI.

I am sad McCain didn't win, and am concerned about the next 4 years, but I love this country, there is no other country like it. Not just in politics but look around, did you ever see such beauty all in one country? I wouldn't live anywhere else.
Rhino is completely correct, the president isn't the deciding factor in how this country will go in the next 4 years. Basic civics folks! There are checks and balances on how a law, policy, or bill goes through and the President doesn't have the final say.
Myself, I am proud to be an American and have never been embarrassed to say it out loud in any other country I have been in and regardless of who is in the White House I will always be proud to stand up and say I'm American and I love the United States of America!
I also glad that I voted, cause now I can bitch and complain and say yes I voted so I can bitch and complain about it,
My dad, I miss him every day.

All well said, I will add that it is also good to see the race barrier broken, although I wish it was with another person. Plainly Obama and his politics scare me and I fear he will be nothing but another empty suit, another Bill Clinton. Hopefully I am wrong and he does wonderful things for our county!
God Bless America! Land that I love!

I also agree with some and disagree with some, I WILL always be proud to be an AMERICAN!!!!!!!. Like it has been said the President is the President, I will respect him or her or whomever we as Americans vote for. But I also agree that most people voted because of one factor, you can see by the way they have no clue what our new President stands for, other than the color of his skin.
We as Americans must support our President whomever it is, and in four years voice your vote again. Plus as we all know the President isn't the deciding factor in our Country.
