An off-duty Harris County deputy constable is recovering this morning after his car was struck by a possibly intoxicated tow truck driver, authorities said.
A flatbed tow truck rear-ended the deputy's car shortly after 2 a.m. while he was blocking traffic at a construction site in the 12000 block of the Northwest Freeway's northbound feeder road, Houston police said.
The deputy's car was equipped with flashing emergency lights at the time of the wreck, police said.
The deputy was taken to Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital with minor injuries, police said.
The driver of the wrecker that struck the deputy — and a second tow-truck driver who pulled up at the scene — were both taken into custody on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, police said.

I saw this on the news yesterday. Very disturbing. Hopefully they are going to start cracking down on the tow truck drivers here because they cause almost as many wrecks as they clear."The inherent vice of Capitalism is the unequal sharing of its blessings; the inherent vice of Socialism is the equal sharing of its miseries." -Winston Churchill
