13 year old boy grabs girls buttocks at school, prosecutors want to make him a sex offender

MEQUON, Wis., Dec. 8 (UPI) -- Several teenage girls in Mequon, Wis., say they object to a classmate being criminally prosecuted for allegedly touching them inappropriately. The girls, in court affidavits, said they did not feel degraded by the boy, now 14, and don't want to see him prosecuted for five counts of fourth-degree sexual assault, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Monday.
The boy's parents, who admit their son behaved inappropriately, said he is guilty only of disorderly conduct and could be tagged as a sex offender if prosecutors succeed with their case, the Journal Sentinel reported, noting the family's identity has been withheld to protect the identity of the juvenile.
The boy is to appear in court Feb. 3 for an evidentiary hearing in which experts will give their opinion on whether a 13-year-old boy can be sexually aroused by grabbing a girl's buttocks, the newspaper reported.
Prosecutors allege the boy several times in 2007 and in June 2008, when he was 13, grabbed the girls' buttocks or their breasts, licked a girl's neck and tickled a girl in the stomach.

No way should this kid be a sex offender, the bottom line of it all is that he has no idea what his sexual identity really is, and kids have done what he has done for years without prosecutors getting involved to solve the issue. The way it used to work is the boy does something, the girls object and tell the teacher/parent/etc, they get with the boy and his parents, he receives DISCIPLINE, and learns from his mistake. It's going too far when the attorneys get involved.

I'm not excusing his behavior, but COME ON. What happened to the days when a boy grabs a girl's ass, she smacks the dog squeeze out of him, and we call it a day?

Nowadays she'd be charged with assault and sued for emotional damages as well.

I'm undecided. The article said 5 counts of grabbing different girls. The tickling I don't care about, but it does also say he licked at least one and grabbed breasts. Without knowing the kid, or the case better, I say it could go either way.

I do think that his dad needs to blister his ass and teach him some respect for the opposite sex. But then again, what kind of dad does he have? We don't know that either.

And as far as bringing in "experts to testify if a 13 year old boy could be aroused by grabbing female buttocks?" Sh!t people, a boy that age gets a hard on if the wind blows right. What can these so called "experts" testify to? He's a guy?

But the most telling thing to me is all these "victims" don't want him prosecuted. Seems to me that if they don't feel like victims, then where's the crime? Were these kids grabassing and some teacher saw it? I'd like to have more info, so at the moment, I'm gonna stick with undecided.

geeeez......can we all remember being 13. when i was around that age a boy on my school bus pulled my pants down (all the way to the floor) in front of everyone! i was sooo embarrassed. after pulling my pants back up i turned around & slapped him so hard he fell out of his seat! everyone seen my panties, but he got beat up by a girl.........i think we were even....end of story. i don't think i even told my mom about it till much later.

That reminds me of a 8-yo kid over around Fort Worth who spat on a girl at the bus stop. Her parents wanted to press assault charges, but the DA refused to act on it.

He told them that they're welcome to sue the kid's parents, but since they couldn't show any damages... That wasn't going to go anywhere either.

No. Instead of labeling his ass as a "sex offender", his daddy needs to be labeling his ass with a leather belt about twice a day for a while. When I was a kid, I didn't screw around doing stuff like this...because I knew if dad found out, he'd punish me WAAAAYYYY worse than the principal or the court system could. Pops used to wear one of those thick leather belts with his name on the back and a big-ass silver belt buckle (was this only in Texas?)..I swear sometimes I can still see the name "Charles" backwards on my ass.
