Vigil for a CRIMINAL who died shortly after being tased

A group of about 50 people gathered in the snow and wind Sunday to remember 24-year-old Quincy Smith.
According to Minneapolis Police, Smith died Tuesday after being tasered while struggling with five officers.

Smith's mother spoke to reporters at Sunday's vigil on Knox Avenue.
"Tasers are not the killers. It is the police and how they use them and where they place the tasers on our child's body," said Bettie Smith.
Police said they responded to a domestic assault on Knox Avenue and that Smith had a rifle. They said officers found the gun the next day.

Homicide and Internal Affairs are both investigating. The five officers involved had been on paid leave. They are now back on duty.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has not yet released the exact cause of death.

Initially, on their main page, KSTP referred to him as a murder victim. That description was up all night on their website.

I'm way older than that jackass, have a clean record and have never been in a fight with police. Seriously, how hard is it to stay out of trouble??

Maybe it wouldn't be hard to place the taser prongs where momma would have liked them if he hadn't been fighting with the police in the first place.

Side Note: The Houston police officers union is suing a local activist and Donald Driver's father for slander and filing a false report after he claimed he was beaten by police, when he actually had a heart attack. I was happy to see the police fighting back here, hopefully the officers in Minnesota can get the same justice. Sue momma and the news station.

I can't wait to see the autopsy results. I can't see a taser killing someone, taser has a very good reputation.

Twenty-four year old "child" ? I think that might be part of what used to be his problem. I betcha her child had more in him than Similac or Gerber's strained carrots.
