Spider-Man Creator, Marvel Comics To Unveil World's First Gay Superhero
Los Angeles, CA (AHN) -- Spider-Man creator Stan Lee is preparing to unveil the world's first gay superhero in an hour-long TV drama being filmed in the U.S.
The 86-year-old former Marvel Comics boss and creator of the Hulk and the X-Men is said to be working on a project about high school basketball star Thom Creed, who hides his developing superpowers along with his sexuality. Lee developed the idea of a gay character from the award-winning novel Hero by Perry Moore.
TV executives said if the show is a hit, it will likely cross over to the UK.
"It was only a matter of time before we had our first gay superhero. And if there is one man who can make him a success it is Stan Lee. There's a real buzz among comic book fans," one executive explained.

I have a name and slogan for the new superhero:"Terminator the Sperminator, sacrificing HIS ass to save yours!"
For the morning will come. Brightly will it shine on the brave and true, kindly upon all who suffer for the cause, glorious upon the tombs of heroes. Thus will shine the dawn.

Are there any black superheroes now? I can't think of one, but I'd expect to see that before seeing a gay one.

I know what they meant was the first gay superhero on TV. But Marvel already has the market on the "World's first gay superhero" in comics. Alpha Flight's Northstar came out of the closet like a decade ago.

To each his own, and I honestly don't care about what people do, but why does EVERYTHING have to have a gay representative now? Just about every reality show, sitcom, movie, etc. has a gay person in it. It is like an essential character now. The bad part is that they don't pick normal people, they pick the most flamboyant, over-the-top, effiminate male or the most rugged, tough, butch looking female. I am sick of PC causing crap like this to be shoved down our throats. I don't want to have to explain to my daughter why the "man" on tv acts like more of a girl than she does.

Also there's Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and of course Blade in the marvel universe. There are lots of Black superheroes.
There was also a series of Marvel comics called Truth: Red, White, & Black that tells the story of black test subjects that were experimented on in the 1940s during the Super Soldier program before they gave it to Steve Rogers and made him Captain America."If everyone is thinking alike, then someone isn't thinking." -Gen. Yeah I don't care for the cliche of the flamboyant gay guy on TV. But I don't think I'd call that being PC, but merely stereotypical. Even on Will and Grace, the "more butch" of the two main gay male characters, is still a stereotypical gay guy. How about a show with a gay character where, other than knowing he's gay, you wouldn't be able to tell much at all? One that is basically the same as all the other male characters except that he likes dudes. But shows anymore use the cliche because it adds drama. Especially "reality" shows. The more strange and out there a person is, the more they want that person on the show. To show producers, drama equals ratings. When they shot the reality show here, they picked the guy that was Trish Stratus' FTO because he was having marital issues and they hoped him riding with Trish would cause drama to spark up.
Heaven forbid you have to talk with your children about people that are different than you. Better if she can hear an intelligent commentary from you about the subject, then to hear god knows what about it from someone else. If anything else that gives you a free reason to be able to talk with your child.

Very true. I worked hate crimes my last 3 years and dealt with a lot of gay people. Yeah, there were those you were tempted to douse with a fire extinquisher, but a lot of them I would have never guessed they were gay.
I don't understand the fascination we have with who people screw.....

Most people don't want to know and don't care. There's a certain segment though that has to cram it down everyone's throats, pun not intended. The media seems fascinated by it and has to parade it around too.
By and large, the majority of the population I think, could not care less and would ignore it all if they could. That which does not kill me, better start fucking running.
