Man Calls 911 Operator 200 Times Looking For Kisses

FRISCO, TX - A Frisco man allegedly tied up police dispatchers by making nearly 200 non-emergency phone calls to 911 in just over a month.

Frisco police spokesperson Gina McFarlin said Regulo Rodriguez is accused of continually asking operators for "kisses."

In once such recorded call, when asked what his emergency is the caller said, "Give me one kiss for you."

"He just wants to talk and say, 'Can I have a kiss?'" said dispatcher Lisa Clausen.

Authorities said people regularly call 911 for non-emergencies such as complaints about loud music or barking dogs. Then, there are pranksters who take up precious time on 911 lines before dispatchers figure out it's a hoax.

Frisco police said while people using 911 for non-emergencies is a growing problem, they also said they haven't experienced anything like this case.

"It's really frustrating to think that you're trying to help somebody and all he wants to do is talk to you," Clausen said.

Authorities said they struggled to stop the caller.

"He was making these phone calls, and they couldn't keep him on the phone long enough to figure out where he was," McFarlin said.

The final time he called, a dispatcher managed to keep him on the line long enough for patrol units to track him down. Rodriguez was charged with making silent and abusive calls to 911.

"What he did, like I said, was more than excessive [and] definitely against the law - and that's why he was arrested," McFarlin said.

In Dallas last year, emergency operators answered more than 2.5 million calls; Fort Worth took in more than a million.

I dunno, but if you give him a personal tour of our dispatch center and see the wimmin there in their chairs designed by Kenworth, he'd definitely learn his lesson!

I knew Citizen Police Academies were good for something! I've seen 'em on the CPA tours - Not in Frisco, but a couple of other cities

There are a few very hot standouts, I may add, but it's the luck of the draw which one you'll get
