My new Sheriff gets to work.
The ajc.com reports...
91 arrested in Clayton County sweep

Ninety-one people were in jail Friday after a three-day sweep by local and federal law enforcement officers to help alleviate a backlog of warrants in Clayton County, authorities said.
Clayton County Sheriff Kem Kimbrough, who took over the department last month and found more than 16,500 unserved warrants, recruited help from the U.S. Marshals Service and the Clayton County and Forest Park police departments to help deal with the backlog.
Kimbrough did not have a breakdown of how many were felonies, but he said all of the warrants were for “the most violent offenders.”
One of the warrants was for Kenny Lasalle Taylor, 25, who was wanted for a bank robbery in Moore County, N.C., and who reportedly was hiding out in a Clayton County home.
Taylor also is a suspect in 18 other robberies up and down the East Coast, said James Ergas of the U.S. Marshals’ Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force.
Six officers surrounded Taylor’s car on I-285 Thursday afternoon and forced him to stop.
Marshals searched the car, which turned out to be stolen, and found a gun and a small amount of marijuana, Ergas said. Two other men inside the car were also arrested.
Since taking office Jan. 1, Kimbrough has assigned extra deputies to the street to serve warrants.
“We will chase you. We will hunt you. You will have no rest until you are put in jail,” Kimbrough said Friday.
As of Friday, the sheriff’s department had about 15,900 unserved warrants.
The sweep is the first time in four years that the sheriff’s department partnered with Clayton police. Former Sheriff Victor Hill had elected not to work with area officers.dlefdal said:

That's what I call proactive police work!
