Woman killed in vehicle crash with Hanceville police officer
The Cullman Times
By Patrick McCreless
staff writer
A local woman died Monday night after her vehicle collided with a Hanceville police patrol car.
Cullman County Coroner Gary Murphree said the victim was an elderly woman from Hanceville.
“We can’t release a name yet because we’re still trying to notify the family,” Murphree said.
Murphree said the crash occurred at 6:25 p.m. at the intersection of Alabama Highway 91 and Edmondson Road.
“She died at the scene of massive internal injuries,” Murphree said. “It was a pretty fierce impact.”
He confirmed the woman’s vehicle collided with a Hanceville patrol vehicle, however, he could not provide information on whether or not the officer was injured or on the nature of the crash.
Acting Hanceville Police Chief, Lt. Jimmy Rodgers, said he could not comment on the details of the crash.
“We’re letting the Alabama State Troopers investigate it,” Rodgers said.
Information from the Alabama State Troopers regarding the crash was not available by deadline of this article.Don't sweat the petty things, and don't pet the sweaty things!

I spoke with the officer about 8:00 pm tonight. He seems in as good spirits as can be expected considering. He will come back to work friday (light duty) which I think will help, gotta be better than staying at home thinking all the time. Keep him in your prayers, will still be a while dealing with this mentally as i'am sure some of you know.
