The-Daily-Record.com - Two charged in killing of woman
WOOSTER -- Two people charged in the death of a 30-year-old Maysville woman face up to life in prison following a grand jury indictment Friday charging them both with aggravated murder.
Barbara A. Raber, 39, of 6109 Township Road 310, Millersburg, and Eli D. Weaver, 29, Maysville, are each charged with a single count of aggravated murder with a gun specification. The indictment alleges they acted either individually or in concert with each other in the June 2 homicide of Barbara Weaver, Eli Weaver's wife.
Barbara Weaver was found dead in bed at her 10465 Harrison Road home in Apple Creek June 2 by a family member, according to Wayne County Sheriff's reports. None of the couple's five children were harmed.
Barbara Weaver died from a gunshot wound to the chest, according to a preliminary autopsy, Wayne County Coroner Amy Jolliff said.
Eli Weaver was away on a fishing trip at the time, having left the residence between 3-3:30 a.m., according to sheriff reports.
Eli Weaver and Raber were arrested Wednesday in connection to her death. Sheriff's Capt. Doug Hunter said while Eli Weaver initially cooperated with the investigation, he soon stopped.
After the June 2 interview with detectives, deputies had made arrangements to have Eli Weaver take a polygraph test, Hunter said. On June 3 detectives learned Eli Weaver was represented by an attorney, and he declined the polygraph.
Detectives also learned Eli Weaver was romantically involved with several women, including Raber, an admission he made in interviews, Hunter said.
"Through the investigation we learned from multiple sources that Mr. Weaver was unhappy in his marriage and had spoken to multiple people about different ways to kill his wife," Hunter said.
Raber and Eli Weaver's relationship goes back at least 10 years, Hunter said. They became acquaintances as a result of Eli Weaver and Raber's husband working together at a construction company.
Raber confessed to killing Barbara Weaver the night she was arrested, Hunter said, adding why she did it was not clear.
Raber and Eli Weaver remain incarcerated in Wayne County Jail with bond set at $1 million. They are scheduled to be arraigned June 24."Like" us on facebook! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Offic...93147194083228

The male defendant owns an outdoor sporting goods shop. Maysville is an unincorporated village in the next county north of us. It's probably 10 houses, a grain elevator, and that sporting goods shop.
I think he took some lessons from Scott Peterson with the whole fishing trip.
