President Barack Obama, annoyed by a fly during a television interview at the White House, took matters into his own hands by killing it.

Mr Obama told the persistent fly: “Get out of here.”

It did not. So Mr Obama waited for the fly to settle and then smacked the fly dead at the first attempt.

Without missing a beat, the president said to CNBC correspondent John Harwood: “Now, where were we. That was pretty impressive, wasn’t it? I got the sucker.”

The camera crew was still rolling in the East Room. Mr Obama pointed to the vanquished insect on the floor and said: “You want to film that?”

So you know how President Barack Obama killed that fly this week? Well, Peta is speaking out about it.
Peta, an animal rights activist group known for their risqué vegetarian ads, are not happy with President Barack Obama. Why? Because he killed a pesky fly! An insect!

Our friends at TMZ dish: PETA is finally going after President Barack Obama for delivering capital punishment to a housefly on the White House grounds yesterday - a death that was caught on tape.

Peta released this statement about Obama's fly killing: "He isn't the Buddha, he's a human being and human beings have a long way to go before they think before they act."

I saw the infamous "fly kill" on the news this morning and then they reported that PETA was speaking out against killing the fly. WTF they don't have enough to keep them busy? They can come and get all the flies they want off the dog poop in my yard. Jeeze, are we going to have a "Save the Fly" group now to join the "Save the Whales"?

Looks like a common Wolf Spider Mack. It "would" have kept the roaches out. I think PETA needs to have a big warm glass of STFU:

Five-O, I know it was a wolf spider, and it was covered with tiny just hatched spiders, too. I thought it was a tarantula to begin with, it had so many tiny spiders on it that it looked hairy. The thing is, my guard house is all of about 6'x8'. This thing came in and freaked me right the hell out. Other spiders and insects I've just taken back outside, but this thing made my skin crawl. Some people freak out about snakes or rats. Apparently for me, it's being snuck up on by big ass spiders that are covered with other spiders.

Agreed,

I'm not too fond of Black Widows. Don't know much about the brown recluse. Tarantulas are kind of cool looking but not sure I would handle one. Other than that, spiders don't usually bother me. I do know some people that will get squeamish over a Daddy Long Legs or a common jumping spider and they are harmless.

Then I guess you wouldn't like a camel spider from Iraq.

Here's two of them.

IIRC they may not be true spiders but more closely related to the scorpion.

Another nice creepy crawly creature that has a painful bite or sting and may kill you.

Those little fuzzy black & white jumping spiders are cool... If you slowly move a pencil in front of them, they'll often raise up on their hind legs, and swat at the pencil ike a cat.
