Iranian Election Protests, Pro or Con?
By now you have all heard (perhaps even seen) coverage of the election protests in Iran following allegations of tampering by Iran's government in the Presidential election pitting Amadinejad and Mousavi. The chief complaint being, that more ballots were counted than were cast, and that Iran's true governing power, Ayatollah Khomeni, has utilized the the Guardian Council of Iran to taint the election in favor of Amadinejad.
Given that Mousavi was a former Prime Minister, and is considered originally responsible for the inception of Iran's nuclear program, what do you believe the U.S. position should be with regards to the protests, and the elections?

I suspect we have more of a hand in the mess than even Iran considers.

I just say pro mousavi, because he wont last long if he gets in there. Those people need a change something fierce. I have met alot of people from Iran in my travels and you would be surprised how much the regular Iranian actually likes the U.S.

I don't think we should get involved in Iranian politics, and I don't think we should be the World Police.

I say we just sit back and watch what happens. If the current regime stays in power, we have lost nothing. If they lose power, who knows what the result will be but I would think it would at least have to be better than what it is now. If we try to get involved, we could end up seriously screwing things up and making it worse for us. We once thought it would benefit us to take Iraq's side vs. Iran and look how that turned out. Let this thing take it's own course.

I'm not saying start a war with them... more like some small sniper teams.
Who cares if they retaliate in kind.
