Walter Cronkite’s Family Says “He Is Not Expected To Recuperate”
Walter Cronkite’s family was forced to make a statement about his [COLOR=#6a9718 !important][COLOR=#6a9718 !important]health[/COLOR][/COLOR] after CBS reported he was in grave condition last week.
“Walter is suffering from cerebrovascular [COLOR=#6a9718 !important][COLOR=#6a9718 !important]disease[/COLOR][/COLOR] and is not expected to recuperate,” his family said in a statement.Walter is considered on of the most famous news anchors and one of the most trusted men in America, our thoughts go out to his family at this time.
“He is resting comfortably at home with family, friends and a wonderful medical team. We thank you for your prayers and good wishes.”

He always did a fantastic job reporting on the NASA Apollo moon shots, and I used to watch Walter Cronkite's "21st Century" religiously, which was a Sunday-night science program of the caliber that you never saw again on the "Big 3" networks. In those days, he really didn't seem biased like he did in later years after the Vietnam war, or at least we overlooked it if he was.
No matter what people say about his biases in war reporting, he was instrumental in bringing the behind-the-scene coverage into our living rooms like never before. His daily body counts turned people against the Vietnam war and the soldiers themselves, but I think the backlash he caused has over time increased appreciation for the soldiers of later wars, as strange as it may seem.

In his prime he was one of the best or most circulated news reporter of his time. He did speak some truth, though.
