Cheese & crackers, that's an ugly drag queen.
Two men -- at least one of whom was a contestant in a beauty pageant -- were charged early Wednesday with using a trophy to beat a judge because they allegedly did not like his vote in the West Side competition earlier this month.
The attack left the judge with his jaw broken in three places and a gash on his forehead.

Leroy Tinch, 28, and Anthony Johnson, 23, were each charged early Wednesday with felony aggravated battery.
Leroy Tinch, 28, of the 2200 block of Emerson Street in Evanston, and Anthony Johnson, 23, of the 8200 block of Keating Avenue in Skokie, were each charged early Wednesday with felony aggravated battery, according to Rogers Park District police Lt. John Franklin.
Police responded at 4:55 a.m. July 6 to a call of a person with a knife at a beauty pageant at the 5th City Center at 3350 W. Jackson Blvd., the lieutenant said.
Officers learned Johnson allegedly struck judge Sebastian Latta, 37, of Baltimore, Md., with a trophy -- shattering his jaw in three places. Latta was initially taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and his jaw remained wired shut Wednesday morning, Franklin said.
Latta told a responding officer, “Apparently, I must have voted for the wrong person,” the officer said.
Tinch, who resembles a woman and appears to have breast implants, was likely the one competing and probably did not win the trophy used in the attack, Franklin said.
Tinch, who has a tattoo of “paw prints” on his chest, also allegedly slashed Latta across the forehead with an unidentified edged instrument, according to Franklin.
“They said they didn’t like the way he [Latta] judged one of them in the pageants,” Franklin said.
Rogers Park District police officer Jennifer Caputo arrested Tinch at 2:40 a.m. Tuesday after she spotted him in the 7100 block of North Clark Street. Johnson surrendered to police at 11 p.m. Tuesday at the Rogers Park District police station, the lieutenant said.
“She [Caputo] did a great job spotting the offender and bringing him in,” Franklin said.
Harrison Area Detective Vincent Alonzo was assigned the case the night of the incident, and he and his partner, Russell Egan, were being lauded their work.
“They did an excellent job putting the case together,” Franklin said.
No other suspects are being sought in the case.\\` ` ` ` < ` )___/\

From the not-so-news network:
Beauty Pageant Beating Raises Questions of Profiling
Chicago, IL - The Illinois case of a transgender beauty pageant contestant has raised some concerns by activists regarding the actions of the police in arresting two who they claim were responsible for inflicting injuries to a dissenting judge. Anthony Johnson, 23, of Skokie, and Leroy Tinch, 28, of Evanston are accused of felony aggravated battery following an incident where police claim Johnson used a pageant trophy to bludgeon pageant judge Sebastian Latta, 37, of Baltimore, MD. Police further charge that Latta was cut across the forehead by Tinch using "a sharp instrument" in the alleged attack.
But demands now surface from both race and gay rights activists regarding the police actions and the arrests of Tinch and Johnson. Reverend Dr. Leroy "Annabelle" Jenkins, PhD, himself a transgender ordained minister from the Church of the Divine Rainbow from Kingston, Jamaica has demanded an explanation as to why both arrestees were black, and one was transgendered.
"The fact that no heterosexual white people were arrested in this incident is cause for alarm to me, and it should immediately bring to bear all of the resources of both the African-American and Gay communities to investigate why the police continue to be so motivated by hatred," Jenkins said.
Jenkins also added: "In every one of us, there is an opposite gendered personality fighting to come out of hiding, and the fact that in this case, one brave and beautiful person defied all barriers and put themselves out there open for criticism by racist, bigoted homophobes, speaks to me loudly that the judge deserved what he got, and that both these young individuals who have been deprived of their guaranteed freedoms should be released so they can freely sue their oppressors and captors... even their own President knows that the police are enemies of freedom, and has openly said so..."
Repeated calls to the Chicago office of the ACLU have been unreturned, however, a group calling itself "The Association of Transgender Beauty Contestants" has issued a statement, wherein a full investigation into the factual nature of the matter is promised.
In that statement, the proclaimed leader of the group writes, "Hang in there, because we will see justice for (Tinch), and we will replace the damaged trophy and force the pageant to present it to (Tinch) along with a formal apology for not recognizing real beauty. Its not just being a black man in America that is hard, imagine being a black man transitioning into a black woman. Anyone so brave and pioneering cannot possibly be discounted, and we will see to it that (s)he is treated with all the respect and admiration due."
Police have not commented regarding the arrests, with the exception of touting the arrests as "good police work", and stating that the case against Johnson and Tinch is a solid one.
