Man Posing As Detective Tries To Take Woman's Money
http://www.nbc5i.com/news/8362754/detail.html
DALLAS -- A great-grandmother in Dallas says a man posing as a detective tried to swindle her out of thousands of dollars.
Norma Dillard, 75, said a man and woman came to her house in Oak Cliff Tuesday. She said they flashed a badge and threatened to take her to jail if she didn't hand over $5,000 for a gambling debt.
"I don't gamble, and finding fingerprints on money, that's just not me," Dillard said.
To protect the grandchildren with her, she drove the man to her credit union in Richardson and then alerted a security guard.
The suspect jumped into a car driven by his female accomplice when he realized the guard was onto him.
"It really scared me because it caught me off-guard. It's just terrible that they prey on older people like that," Dillard said.
Police said they have no suspects at this time.
