7-year-old steals car to escape church - NewsRunner
Thursday, July 30, 2009
PLAIN CITY, UT (KABC) -- A young car thief in Plain City, Utah, said he was just trying to get out of Sunday school.
Police video caught the pursuit on tape with the 7-year-old behind the wheel.
The boy ran a stop sign and nearly hit another vehicle before pulling into his family's driveway and running home.
When confronted by his father, the boy said he stole the car because he didn't want to go to church.
The boy is too young to prosecute, and deputies did not issue any citations.

Maybe he missed the class on "thou shalt not steal."

Me too... And it didn't help that my mother nagged us endlessly on Sunday morning to hurry up. I never stole a car, but I've neen known to set the clocks & her watch back a couple of hours so we'd be late, or disable the car, misplace her keys, etc.
But then there was the belt...

Must have been a Catholic Church, you know the boy had to do something to protect himself

That actually looks like Lewisipso bailing out of his unit for a foot pursuit except that the kid is much faster than he is.

Did it say who the car belonged too? If it was his families, the most you could have got him for ws unauthorized use (and no DL). And I agree, if it was a Catholic church, he has a right to protect himself from sexual harrassment...........
The six o'clock ruleI tell them to act according to the six o'clock rule, a phrase that causes most of them to say, "Huh?"
I tell them to use this little test before they decide to do something. If they were to do what they're thinking about, and it became the lead story on the six o'clock news, would they be proud? Would their department be proud, and would their family be proud? It's a simple way to live your life both personally and professionally.

Joe Gibbs Racing should sign that kid. He's faster than Denny Hamlin and easier on equipment than Kyle Busch.
