Jim, go pound nails...for Habitat For Humanity.
The Nazi crap has been thrown by both sides. As I mentioned in a previous thread aligning one side with the National Socialist German Workers’ Party is more appropriate than the way the other side uses it, but neither should doing it. How many times has that crap been slung at working cops? It's a low minded default complaint.
What I haven't seen from both sides is racism. I have liberal friends. Got neo conservatives, real conservatives, big and small L libertarians, a Quaker, and even a Green party member (I think..haven't heard much from him lately): pretty much everything in stock. Point is, I'll talk to anyone, and disagree with most. So here's what I've found - it's only my liberal friends who are talking about racism. That's their low minded default position so long as President Obama is in office. They're also the ones who have been talking about assassination since before Denver; that they're still harping on that just makes me think all the more they're looking for a martyr.
Quite the shell game to complain about a lack of civility while calling those they disagree with murderous racists.

I'm not sure even democrats listen to Jimmy Carter.
I saw recently he was one of this country's worst presidents, going back to the 1800's. Besides, the best card to play in this game of politics if you are losing is the race card. It's getting old and losing energy. Hell, Obama is not black, he's bi-racial. I wonder how the white half is rated?
As today's police officers you are not unlike your counterparts of years past. You are an elite group of select members, a brotherhood of highly trained professionals, who are called upon to protect your community in a time of need. Guardians for safety. Being a police officer is not for the faint of heart. You must be honest, trustworthy and fearless in the face of evil. You are being watched everyday. Represent yourself, your department and the shield, for it should always be the embodiment of all that is good and justly. You are the thin blue line. Be proud, be tough and be safe.

I didn't listen to anything Carter said when he was the president, I'm not about to stop a good thing now.
SI VIS PACEM PARA BELLUM-Ex-Sheriff Martin Howe to Will Kane in "High Noon"
"It's a great life. You risk your skin catching killers and the juries turn them loose so they can come back and shoot at you again. If your honest , your poor your whole life. And , In the end , you wind up dying all alone on some dirty street. For what? For nothing. For a tin star."
Far from being a handicap to command, compassion is the measure of it. For unless one values the lives of his soldiers and is tormented by their ordeals , he is unfit to command.

I tell them to use this little test before they decide to do something. If they were to do what they're thinking about, and it became the lead story on the six o'clock news, would they be proud? Would their department be proud, and would their family be proud? It's a simple way to live your life both personally and professionally.

Carter is a racist because he killed the Breeder Reactor program - High electric bills and rolling blackouts affect poor black people more, because they don't have enough money to buy a Diesel generator like rich people can do.
Rich white people made money off of poor black people during the Carter administration - Poor people were paying 25% interest on their loans and 14% on their houses, and rich people were buying 20% CD's to grab that same money.
Poor black people were affected by Carter's gas lines, but rich people could hire someone to spend all day in a gas line for them.
And lastly, Carter had black people working for him on his peanut plantation - They were making almost nothing while Carter was making a very good living. You might say that they were slaves.
And besides, Carter's VP was white. That shows how racist he really was - How could he have passed up so many qualified blacks to pick an idiot like Walter Mondale? No, really - why the hell did he do that?
