Cop car war heats up
More here: Ford announces planned replacement for Crown Victoria - Nov. 13, 2009Ford Motor Co. is firing back following General Motors' announcement that it would begin selling a police-only Chevrolet sedan in the United States in early 2011.That's just about the time Ford is expected to end production of the Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, which is currently the most popular police car in America. Ford claims that of the 60,000 to 70,000 police cars sold in America every year, it sells about 45,000.
Ford didn't provide any details of its new Police Interceptor but promised the car would be revealed to the public in the first quarter of 2010.

Ford has been playing the "we're gonna stop making the CVPI" for, what, 20 years now? The only reason I see them actually doing something is that enough agencies are looking at other cars to worry them...

I don't need to go the 160 on the Charger that I drive, even if it would, but I was passed by a moped once. Better handling wouldn't hurt either. That being said I really look forward to the reveal. The car has been under development for the past 14 months, Ford said.Do not war for peace. If you must war, war for justice. For without justice there is no peace. -me

Wonder if it will be a Tarus based vehicle?
Either way, my car only has 96k miles on it. I won't see a new one for at least another 100k more.
