Delray, FL police officer fired over Ben and Jerry's ice cream
Apparently this former officer has never heard of Mumia abu Jamal aka Wesley Cook or Daniel Faulkner.
For former Officer Michael Brown, the police credo "to serve and protect" apparently includes two free scoops of strawberry cheesecake ice cream.

Moron. At my former agency we had a veteran officer refuse to leave the drivethru of a bank until they gave him a sucker. Complete embarrasment.Do not war for peace. If you must war, war for justice. For without justice there is no peace. -me

wow....makes you wonder about the oral review board, the academy, and the FTO phase. Still, a few slip through the cracks.......The six o'clock ruleI tell them to act according to the six o'clock rule, a phrase that causes most of them to say, "Huh?"
I tell them to use this little test before they decide to do something. If they were to do what they're thinking about, and it became the lead story on the six o'clock news, would they be proud? Would their department be proud, and would their family be proud? It's a simple way to live your life both personally and professionally.

Most expensive ice cream he'll ever have in his life.Nothing clever here except my zombie defense gun... now where did I put that flashlight...

What an idiot, at least they got rid of him.

I can't believe people like that. Our citizen patrols have a retired NY State Trooper though who will go into Starbucks expecting free coffee.
They do give it to him automatically sometime, but that's not good enough - When they charge him, he won't refuse to pay for it, but he will start talking to me about it where other customers in line can hear him, then sit at the table and grumble about it where people all around us can hear him.
He's a nice guy otherwise. After we got out to the car the first time, I told him to just pay for it next time, but he did it to me again at a pizza place. I told him he's not working as a cop, which they probably think he is because of our uniform, so I don't even feel comfortable if they give it to us without asking. I'm embarassed to go anywhere with him so if I see his name on the schedule I erase mine.
I think what it is, that's the way they used to do it 40 years ago in New York. Here, officers can take free coffee and little discounts, but they can get fired like the Ben & Jerry guy if they ask for it and someone complains.

Anyone that expects freebies for being in uniform needs to be gone. Simple as that. We make enough to pay for food and drinks.Nothing clever here except my zombie defense gun... now where did I put that flashlight...

What an idiot! Never ask for, expect, or plan on a discount/freebie. I've been in situations like TXCharlie before and just wished the guy would shut up.

I'm upset. I was at least hoping from the headline that maybe the guy would have been fired for doing something AGAINST B&J's.... Yeah, he's not only a moron for bullying the free ice cream, but doubly so for even wanting any of that ice cream whose soul has been sold to the devil. Screw this guy and F the hell out of B&J's!CHIRP! CHIRP!
