I can't believe people like that. Our citizen patrols have a retired NY State Trooper though who will go into Starbucks expecting free coffee.
They do give it to him automatically sometime, but that's not good enough - When they charge him, he won't refuse to pay for it, but he will start talking to me about it where other customers in line can hear him, then sit at the table and grumble about it where people all around us can hear him.
He's a nice guy otherwise. After we got out to the car the first time, I told him to just pay for it next time, but he did it to me again at a pizza place. I told him he's not working as a cop, which they probably think he is because of our uniform, so I don't even feel comfortable if they give it to us without asking. I'm embarassed to go anywhere with him so if I see his name on the schedule I erase mine.
I think what it is, that's the way they used to do it 40 years ago in New York. Here, officers can take free coffee and little discounts, but they can get fired like the Ben & Jerry guy if they ask for it and someone complains.

I'm upset. I was at least hoping from the headline that maybe the guy would have been fired for doing something AGAINST B&J's.... Yeah, he's not only a moron for bullying the free ice cream, but doubly so for even wanting any of that ice cream whose soul has been sold to the devil. Screw this guy and F the hell out of B&J's!
