Wow....I wouldn't have guessed this.
This generally isn't really "news", but I was suprised enough that I had to share.
They may not look as threatening as some of the larger canine, but research revealed that the dachshund is the most aggressive breed of dog.
Citing a study published by Applied Animal Behavior Science, the British newspaper The Daily Telegraph reported that one in five dachshunds has bitten or tried to bite strangers, and one in 12 has shown aggression toward its owners.

who woulda thunk it?
If you have no capacity for violence then you are a healthy productive citizen, a sheep. If you have a capacity for violence and no empathy for your fellow citizens, then you have defined an aggressive sociopath, a wolf. But what if you have a capacity for violence, and a deep love for your fellow citizens? What do you have then? A sheepdog, a warrior, someone who is walking the hero's path. Someone who can walk into the heart of darkness, into the universal human phobia, and walk out unscathed." "The sheep generally do not like the sheepdog. He looks a lot like the wolf. He has fangs and the capacity for violence. The difference, though, is that the sheepdog must not, cannot and will not ever harm the sheep. Any sheepdog who intentionally harms the lowliest little lamb will be punished and removed. The world cannot work any other way, at least not in a representative democracy or a republic such as ours."

Not a big fan of small dogs in general. I think the smallest I actively like that anymore is the English Bulldog.

I love those weiner dogs. I was going to get one but I read they like to burrow as they are specifically bred to go after gophers and rodents in their gopher holes and tunnels so that's why they have the long bodies and short legs. I sorta like my backyard to be hole-free so I had to nix that idea.
Nothing clever here

We had a weiner dog for 5 years and my aunt and uncle had 3 (the grandma, mom, and daughter) at various times over a 15 year period. They never dug in the backyard (my lab does more of that in a week than my daschund did in 5 years). The "burrowing" means if you have a blanket on a couch or bed, they will tunnel under that to sleep. It's not unusual to see just the end of their nose sticking out
They love curling up next to you on the couch or in bed. Pretty cool little dogs. I'm thinking of getting rid of my lab....my yard is too small for his energy level and exercise he needs. I'd get a replacement almost right away. Breed? Daschund

I'm good with outlawing any dog that makes the top ten and weighs enough to actually BE dangerous.
I don't give a shit if the weiner dog or taco bell dog goes beserk, because a good stiff boot solves the problem.

I've always read that poodles are one of the breeds with the most bites. There was one Dog Whisperer show with 'devil' chihuahuas, and there was one chihuahua at a pit bull rescue that had the pit bulls cowering. It was really funny. While I think little dogs are cute and I love them, I'm partial to the large dogs for protection and companionship.
