Yet another reason why Stephen King is totally and completely badass.
The truth is you're the weak, and I am the tyranny of evil men.
But I'm tryin' Ringo.
I'm tryin'...real hard...to be the shepherd.

Very nice!

I thought this part was interesting:
Count on a horror novelist to worry about the possible consequences of an unlucky number!Julie Eugley, one of King's personal assistants, told the Bangor Daily News that the Kings were approached about giving $13,000. But Stephen King thought the number 13 was a bit unlucky, so the couple pitched in $12,999 instead.

Class move on Mr. King's part. Another good reason why I read his novels.
SI VIS PACEM PARA BELLUM-Ex-Sheriff Martin Howe to Will Kane in "High Noon"
"It's a great life. You risk your skin catching killers and the juries turn them loose so they can come back and shoot at you again. If your honest , your poor your whole life. And , In the end , you wind up dying all alone on some dirty street. For what? For nothing. For a tin star."
Far from being a handicap to command, compassion is the measure of it. For unless one values the lives of his soldiers and is tormented by their ordeals , he is unfit to command.
