Police treat 8 children to Christmas shopping spree
His plastic badge clipped to his collar, James Lowery browsed the aisles for a belt and a new pair of pants. The 7-year-old had his own personal shoppers — Dallas police officers and emergency dispatchers.
Police gave eight children a $200 shopping spree for the Dallas Police Department’s annual Shop with a Cop program. Officers and telecommunicators took the four families shopping Wednesday afternoon at the Walmart Supercenter in west Gastonia.
