Texas Tea Party Candidate Emerges for Governor - A Gun-Toting Registered Nurse
Tea Party candidates are making their appearance! - Actually a Republican who calls herself a Tea Party candidate, which will put her in a position that allows voters to vote for her in the Republican Primary, while not taking away from the GOP candidate in the general election - A very smart move.
In the Texas Governor's race, the apparent Tea Party candidate is Debra Medina, a Gun-Toting Registered Nurse who will challenge two well-known Texas Republicans for Governor.
This shoot-out could be interesting, if the Tea Party candidate can make a dent in the Texas GOP - This may be the GOP's Waterloo after nominating John McCain in 2008 and backing a couple of liberal Republican congressional candidates in other states. Although she is running as a Republican, it is clearly an attempt to take over the current GOP leadership, or at least steer it away from the John McCain faction.

I'd like to see someone like her in Washington State....but the Dems would have apoplexy and faint at the very sight of her.
