MANSFIELD, Texas -- Police around the state are searching for an escaped inmate who escaped from a North Texas jail.
The drug suspect walked out of the Mansfield detention center Monday night.
Each inmate that comes to the center is given an armband identifying them, but Cirilo Rendon, 39, switched armbands with an inmate who was about to leave on bond and simply walked out.
Officers noticed Rendon was missing about an hour later and, at 7 p.m., the jail was placed on lockdown.
Now Rendon is facing escape charges in addition to drug charges.
Local police departments have been notified about the missing prisoner and officers have been asked to be on the lookout for Rendon in hopes that he will be spotted and returned to the Mansfield jail.
As for how the escape took place, officers are unsure if the prisoner Rendon switched armbands with did so willingly, but that is something that will be investigated.

He changed his identity! Just like the T1000 terminator - you know, the liquid one! How are corrections officials supposed to combat this new and highly advanced form of security breaching?

I guess we can be thankful he was only a druggie, not in jail awaiting transport on a murder charge or something like that.
