Puppy found nearly frozen in jet's cargo bay at JFK Airport is rescued
A puppy found nearly frozen in a jet's cargo bay at JFK Airport was revived by U.S. customs officers who performed mouth-to-snout resuscitation, officials said Thursday.
The 6-week-old pooch was clinging to life when it arrived in New York Saturday on a commercial flight from Mexico, officials said.
Another puppy packed in the same portable kennel in the pressurized cargo bay died during the flight.
Three U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers responded to the call of the popsicle pups because of a suspicion they might be drug mules.
"No matter how uncommon the call, CBP Officers are always willing and ready to assist," said Robert Perez, director of field operations for the CBP in New York.

Why wasn't the pressurized cargo area not heated? If they transport live animals then I think it should be heated.

Awe, the CBP guy did that to get his name in the paper.
No way in hell am I sucking face with an animal.
You know dogs are a tasty treat in some countries. And Yes I've had a pooch or two. Tastes like chicken.
Just because your sign off after you're shift is done, doesn't mean that it's over and put blinders on. You're a cop 24/7 wether you like it or not. If thats something you can't handle, you should find a new line of work!

Poor puppies
Precisely why I drove across the US with my dogs instead of fly.

The tan puppy with a white stripe down its snout was evaluated by a veterinarian and reunited with its unidentified owner Wednesday, Saleh said.\\` ` ` ` < ` )___/\

I wouldn't have a problem with the K9 CPR. I would, however, have to be starving smooth to death before I would even think about eating a dog. Mine are like adopted kids, short and rather hairy, that have trouble speaking clearly. They understand most everything I say to them.

I don't blame you, and I used to do that exact job. Too many times have I seen kennels left outside waiting for someone to come pick it up for transfer. More often than not, we'd take the animal inside our break room to keep them warm/cold (depending on weather) and quiet.

How scary would they have to be before they are refused boarding altogether?
