Kenneth Shipp, you are sentenced to be taken hence to the prison in which you were last confined and from there to a place of execution where you will be hanged by the neck until dead and thereafter your body buried within the precincts of the prison and may the Lord have mercy upon your soul".

This is another story from where I live. I went to school with Eric. We talked a time or two while he was in the academy (I'm in and out of the police/fire academy building wth my other job) and then again after he was on the road. He was a great guy. I can't see how the jury could not reccommend the death penalty. It was a clear cut case. An officer, retired officer, and bystanders were around when it happened.

Good find pharmer. May the justice for Shipp be swift, and also the peace for Eric's family.

I'm glad they convicted him but he should be on his way to the gallows by now

[QUOTE]The defense has argued that Shipp was so intoxicated by the alcohol and pills that he was incapable of forming the intent to kill Freeman, a necessary element in the capital murder charge. [QUOTE]
Total bullshit that apparently worked. He pulled his gun from concealment in a calculated surprise attack and picked out the first uniform he saw as a target because he didn't want to go to jail. There is your intent. This POS is the poster child for the death penalty.

The judge did NOT override the jury today. Kenneth Shipp will only get life without. I can't believe it. I am sick. How does this happen?
