    Ohio man demolishes house to stop bank foreclosing and selling it

    Terry Hoskins couldn't bear to be parted from his home, so when his bank refused his offer for settlement on a mortgage and said they were going to sell it, he knocked it down with a bulldozer.

    Hoskins had trouble with his bank, RiverHills, over the loan for his home.in Clermont County, Ohio.

    Those troubles appeared to be heading to a close when the bank decided began foreclosure proceedings on his $US350,000 home.

    "When I see I owe $160,000 on a home valued at $350,000, and someone decides they want to take it - no, I wasn't going to stand for that, so I took it down," Hoskins said

    Yeah, the only way this makes sense is if it was a non-recourse loan, or if there's an antideficiency statute. Even then, I'd be shocked to find the borrowed would be protected in these circumstances.
