What happens when you park a fire truck on a railroad crossing?
The head of the Detroit Fire Department is red hot about firefighters parking a $600,000 ladder truck on railroad tracks before it was hit by an Amtrak train today.

What a horrible, horrible decision.
Even when we shut the tracks down for something we're doing on or near them, we don't park any vehicles on the tracks and we keep a close eye out in case one of the trains sneaks by.No one has greater love than this, to lay down ones life for ones friends - John 15:13

That was a beautiful truck too. I have seen it being driven aound the SW Detroit area. I'm sure that even with union protection, there is a new opening at the DFD.
Insert witty comment and disclaimer here.

Wow! I cannot imagine the thought process of that driver. Like somebody above said, there is no reason to ever park on or near a track, even though you think it's closed.

I don't think he will be a driver much longer, he's going to be sent in to fight the fire from now on.

Sound like he needs additional training.
