$200K reward offer for info about those who set booby traps targeting California police

A string of "brazen attempts" to kill members of a gang task force in Riverside, California, has led to a $200,000 reward for information. Authorities hope the reward will encourage people to come forward with information related to three booby traps targeting members of the Hemet Gang Task Force, part of a countywide initiative dedicated to combating gang-related violence in Riverside.

On December 31, 2009, the unmarked headquarters of the Hemet Gang Task Force was targeted by someone who redirected the natural gas line on the roof into the building, filling up the office with deadly gas. Two task force members entering the office smelled gas and backed away before flipping the light switch and potentially causing the building to explode.
On February 23, a task force member at the Hemet headquarters opened a security gate outside the building, which launched a homemade zip gun attached to the gate. The weapon fired, missing the officer's head by inches.

I can confirm that the sweep that involved the arrest of several member of the Vagos was not connected to this. The suspect(s) involved in trying to kill officers has / have not been identified yet.

LOL, not your fault. It was an easy conclusion to draw when the gas incident was discovered, since the Vagos funeral was right next door the day before. A bit of investigation showed no connection, but the media sure is hanging on to what they want to, especially since not much else is being released right now. I watched nearly every channel's reporting on the series of incidents and the variances shouldn't have surprised me.

Officials in Hemet, CA, have charged a member of a known skinhead group in connection with several booby trapping incidents targeting local law enforcement that led to a series of raids and 23 arrests.

On April 20, law enforcement officials raided 35 homes in Hemet and the surrounding San Jacinto Valley, arresting 23 people on suspected parole, weapons and narcotics violations.

Yesterday, the police charged one man, Patrick Nugent Jr., with six felonies, including membership in a known skinhead group, Comrades Of Our Racial Struggle Family Skins, and for possessing a zip gun similar to one used in an attempted attack against local law enforcement.
