Officer shooting dash cam used in court...
I don't know if this has been seen, discussed or is placed in the right section. If so, I'm sorry I missed it. Nonetheless, I got it from a gun forum and it amazes me the number of cop-hating citizens wanting to see the officer hang. Granted, the video doesn't look good for the officer in question. You guys make the call. Here: Ottawa Hills officer's trial begins, dash cam vid shown | 13abc.com

It doesn't look good -- but it doesn't look as bad as the coverage suggests, either. I don't know anything about the motorcyclist, but the hand motions were back and to the waist, much like if he were going for a gun or other weapon in the waistband.
In a subsequent article (McCloskey takes the stand in Officer White's trial | 13abc.com), it's mentioned that the motorcyclist had a knife and admitted drinking and using marijuana. I don't know where the knife was, or how big it was, but those facts certainly influence my interpretation, too.
Like I said -- it doesn't look good, but there are also plenty of legitimate questions.Voting against incumbents until we get a Congress that does its job.

I agree the video itself doesnt look the best for the officer, but keep in mind that the camera is several feet to the right of the officer once he exits his vehicle. The suspect twists his body to the right and his right hand came back towards his waist, this would all be away from where the officer is positioned, not towards him where he could see better. If this guy hadn't tried to run, had just put his hands up, or had twisted to the left towards the officer I suspect it would have been a completely different outcome.

hm...I agree with everyone else. Looks bad.
But, we only saw it from the angle that the camera had. The officer saw it from a completely different angle. No one has greater love than this, to lay down ones life for ones friends - John 15:13

They convicted him. I just wonder what it was that he saw from his vantage point.
