That was probably the worst call or one of the worst calls in sports officiating history yesterday. However, the character that everyone showed following the incident was very refreshing. Joyce when he realized he had made a bad call immediately contacted the pitcher, Galarraga, to apologize. Galarraga the whole time just accepted the call, smiled a little bit, and got back down to business. He never blamed Joyce and he didn't throw a hissy fit or temper tantrum like alot of pro players do. At the game today he brought out the lineup card to Joyce who was the homeplate umpire. You could see Joyce was actually moved to tears. Both these guys showed great sportsmanship and it was good to see.RIP Sarah Noll~11-8-87 to 4-17-08

Jim Leyland, the Tigers' manager, also exhibited a lot of class. Maybe Galarraga can take heart in knowing he pitched a perfect game in reality getting 28 straight outs.SI VIS PACEM PARA BELLUM-Ex-Sheriff Martin Howe to Will Kane in "High Noon"
"It's a great life. You risk your skin catching killers and the juries turn them loose so they can come back and shoot at you again. If your honest , your poor your whole life. And , In the end , you wind up dying all alone on some dirty street. For what? For nothing. For a tin star."
Far from being a handicap to command, compassion is the measure of it. For unless one values the lives of his soldiers and is tormented by their ordeals , he is unfit to command.
