Police officer saves family from burning house
ROCKAWAY— A borough patrolman saved a family of five from a house fire early Thursday morning, police said.
Officer Christopher Richardson was on routine patrol at 2:38 a.m. when he saw smoke emanating from a home on Drake Avenue, according to Sgt. Conrad Pepperman.
Richardson kicked down the front door and woke the family.
