Fla. minister cancels burning of Qurans on 9/11 - Yahoo! NewsPastor Terry Jones said Thursday that he decided to cancel his protest because the leader of a planned Islamic Center near ground zero has agreed to move its controversial location. The agreement couldn't be immediately confirmed.That which does not kill me, better start fucking running.

It was reported on the news (NBC) tonight that he had a visit from gthe FBI and was told that he he burned the bo9oks, he would be charged with a Hate Crime. Wonder if the Feds are going to go after the leftists in California and charge them with a Hate Crime if they burn an American Flag. Oops,. forgot, thats Freedom of Speech. But burning a book is a Hate Crime? Go figure

Burning without a permit with a hate crime enhancement? Admittedly I don't know much about federal hate crime laws but I don't see it.

He was quoted in the article I read as having said the FBI was warning him about threats to his safety. I'm in the boat with bloomberg and Patreus. Bloomberg says whether or not it's smart to do, it's his right to burn the koran. He also said that we can't just protect first amendment rights when we like whats being said. Patreus thinks the backlash would cost us military lives, and I tend to agree with that too. I don't think it's a terribly smart move to burn the koran. Originally Posted by bayern
