Schools try using psychology to get kids to eat healthy
Federal officials are turning to psychology in a new approach to get kids to choose healthier foods in the school lunch line.
Some of the ideas include hiding chocolate milk behind plain milk, putting the salad bar near checkout, placing fruit in pretty baskets and accepting only cash as payment for desserts.

I don't recall having candy available in schools when I was a kid, and if we left campus for lunch it was considered truancy.

We had a lunch period and that was it. Not to mention a real PE (Physical Education) period. Add in sports and I could eat anything and be fine.

Well do I remember the "McRib" (not actual McDonalds) days... I used to highlight it on the calendar, it was just about the only real food we got.
