MINEOLA, N.Y. -- A purse-snatcher got a little more than he bargained for after attacking a woman on Long Island this week, police said.
Not only did the woman fight back, but she said she also walked away with her purse -- and the thief's jacket.
"That was just my nature. I'm not the type to run away from things," said Diana, who did not want her last name used.
Police said a man walked up to Diana on Tuesday night at the Mineola train station while she was on her cell phone and took off with her pocketbook. . "I didn't think that somebody would be brazen enough to do something like that at that time," Diana said.
But Diana did something not many people would do. She ran after the thief.
