Officer Shot During Attempted Sex Offender Arrest

In my county where I both live and work. About 2 mins from my house. My PD has several SWAT operators (mostly snipers) in play. This shit is getting crazy.

NORTHGLENN - A police officer was shot and wounded on Monday night as police tried to arrest a registered sex offender, according to the Northglenn chief of police. The situation has now turned into a standoff and police say they plan to go into the home in the next half hour if the man does not surrender.

Chief Van Houten says police went to a home near Bowman Place and Irma Drive on Monday night to arrest 40-year-old Matthew Anderson. He was wanted on allegations he attempted to lure a 13-year-old girl into a sexual activity. Police were trying to arrest Anderson after a months-long undercover investigation.

Van Houten says when officers tried to arrest Anderson at his home around 6:45 p.m., he would not answer so five officers had to breach the door. That is when Van Houten says Anderson opened fire, getting off at least two shots.
