Someone's about to become a training video star?

So now we also have theft of handcuffs, littering... don't need a consult with Ralph Nader to determine this guy is unsafe on any speed.
Oh com'on, if it wasn't a bad pun would I have made it?

yeah it was - article said it was so he could get some fresh air - apparently he was on drugs and had been vomiting (which also explains the bed pan looking thing)
point in fact - what happens when you're too nice to the folks in the back seat, cause if he would've broken some bones... or God forbid died... that family would've had one damn good law suit =/
if he pukes, he pukes - our answer to that? - plastic seats
a little bleach, a long handled brush, and spray them out... tada

That's where I went wrong. I neglected to notice the article.
I believe in treating my prisoners humanely but I agree with you and Pudge about never compromising your safety and putting your ass at risk at any level for the comfort of an arrestee. Too many officers have died being nice. You have to remember they are under arrest for a reason. Your mindset should be that your prisoner is looking for a way to hurt you and/or a way to escape. You as the officer should be thinking one step a head of the arrestee and anticipating what he might do. I also noticed that the prisoner was not wearing a seatbelt. That's another way to get yourself and your department liable for injuries in the event of a MV crash. Having the seatbelt on also restricts your arretee's movement. Granted a suspect can probably release the belt but if he does , it gives you forewarning that he may be up to something.
