Father of slain car theft suspect: 'I failed as a parent'

Shitbag drew a gun on a deputy and the deputy followed rule #1. Deputy went home at the end of shift, the other guy didn't. Here's a quote from the father of the one in the cooler.

David Dawkins was released from prison less than 3 weeks ago after serving time twice... [he] pleaded guilty to 10 charges of breaking into cars and taking things all in 2006. He was sentenced to 5 years but served a year and a half. In 2009 he again pleaded guilty on similar charges and served less than a year and a half.

He'd been out of jail all of 19 days.
