Chicago officers injured
Chicago - Chicago police said that a man who was handcuffed in the back of a moving patrol car pulled out a gun and opened fire on Wednesday.
Police bailed out of the car and returned fire, killing the suspect.
Before he died, the suspect shot and wounded one officer. The second also received minor injuries; both will recover.
The suspect was initially taken into custody on charges of aggressive panhandling near Moody Bible Institute at Chicago and Wells around 4 p.m. Wednesday.
