Public broadcasting funding cut?
PressDemocrat.com
The North Bay's public radio and television stations are taking seriously a federal budget proposal by House Republicans to defund public broadcasting and vow to stay on the air whatever the outcome.
While the Corporation for Public Broadcasting has faced frequent budget threats over the years, supporters of PBS television and National Public Radio say the latest proposal to pull all federal support is more alarming given the current fiscal and political climate.
It's happening in the midst of threatened cuts to hundreds of programs. It's not simply a political agenda. It's in the midst of a recession and incalculable economic losses in California, said Nancy Dobbs, president and CEO of KRCB, which operates Channel 22 television and KRCB radio.
One-quarter of their $2.3 million budget comes through the national Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

About time. All these stations do is spout the liberal line. None of then can survive on their own.'Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a
delusional, illogical liberal minority, and rabidly
promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which
holds forth the proposition that it is entirely
possible to pick up a turd by the clean end!'

If what they have to say is important, how come they can't make a living at it like the conservatives?

I honestly think that if NPR restructured and consolidated to be nationally syndicated the way conservative talk radio works that they would be successful. I think it's popular and could stand on its own if done correctly.
I don't think they'll beat Rush but I think they could do it without public money supporting them. That which does not kill me, better start fucking running.
