Jailed polygamist retakes control of church, ousts 45 members

Polygamist leader Warren Jeffs is not only running the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, but he has also ousted at least 45 high-ranking members he considered a threat to his leadership, two well-placed sources tell CNN. Those who have been kicked out of the church -- all men -- are not allowed to return to their wives or children, the sources said.
Jeffs, scheduled to go to trial this year on sexual assault and bigamy charges, is running the affairs of the church from his jail cell in Texas, the sources said.

The men he ousted would each have multiple wives, they would look on them as property. The guys would have limited contact with their kids even while in residence, so I doubt the separation would be particularly difficult for them. The women will be redistributed among the remaining men.

Basically Jeffs is still controlling a group that engages in the same illegal activities that have his butt currently behind bars. He is openly in communication with the group, and encouraging others in even more illegal activities. What a gem.
