Topless pic cops did nothing wrong - union
ON-duty police officers who posed for a photograph with a woman who flashed her breasts in an inner Brisbane party district did nothing wrong and should not have been punished, their union says.
Five officers - ranking from sergeant to constable - were involved in or were supervising the photo shoot in which the woman revealed herself in the Fortitude Valley mall in September last year.
At the same time, several digital photographs were taken and kept by the officers.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said the woman had not made a complaint but other officers had become aware of the incident and reported it.
Three of the officers involved had received significant pay cuts in a disciplinary process, a fourth was fined and punishment is yet to be handed out to a fifth, he said.
But Police Union president Ian Leavers said the officers had "done nothing wrong and certainly nothing illegal".
